Globe Telecom, Inc. inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ANZ Bank to facilitate payments to Huawei and its other vendors. The signing, which took place during the Huawei Finance Day in Bangkok, Thailand, further strengthens the partnership with Globe and Huawei.

The MOU contemplates ANZ as one of Globe’s paying service agents for its vendors. ANZ is one of the world’s top 100 banks with an asset base of AUD 247 billion. The bank serves more than five million customers with primary markets in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Asia, the Pacific, UK/Europe, and the United States.

“Similar to our partnership with Huawei, we look forward to a long and healthy collaboration with ANZ,” said Rizza Maniego-Eala, Chief Finance Officer of Globe. “With our plans to accelerate network roll-outs with Huawei, it is critical that we forge healthy alliances with financial institutions that would ensure smooth payments to our vendors.”

Globe’s strong partnership with Huawei dates back to 2011 when the former embarked on a massive network transformation program. Earlier this June, the partnership was further in display as Globe became the first in Southeast Asia to offer fixed wireless 5G services for home internet.
