In a powerful celebration of leadership, patriotism, and purpose, TopNewsAsia magazine gathered some of the country\u2019s most distinguished men in uniform, public servants, diplomats, and faith leaders for its inaugural \u201cLeading Men\u201d Awards held on May 19, 2026 at the Chairman\u2019s Lounge of Okada Manila.<\/p>\n

Spearheaded by media visionary, Publisher, President and Editor-In-Chief Grace Bondad Nicolas, the prestigious event honored exceptional individuals whose dedication and service continue to shape the future of the Philippines through courage, integrity, compassion, and nation-building initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first batch of awardees reflected the strength and diversity of leadership across the military, government, diplomatic corps, civic organizations, and religious communities. These are the leaders of this generation. Influential and Powerful.\u201d- Grace Bondad Nicolas<\/p>\n

Among those recognized were Brigadier General Michael L. Romero, whose commitment to reserve force development continues to inspire patriotism and preparedness, and General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., represented during the ceremony by Lieutenant General Arvin R. Lagamon, symbolizing the AFP\u2019s unwavering dedication to protecting the nation and preserving peace.<\/p>\n

The Philippine Army was proudly represented by Lieutenant General Antonio G. Nafarrete through Major General Christopher C. Tampus, while the Philippine Navy\u2019s leadership under Vice Admiral Jose Ma. Ambrosio Q. Ezpeleta was represented by Major General Edwin E. Amadar.<\/p>\n

Also recognized were Lieutenant General Arthur M. Cordura, Lieutenant General Aristotle D. Gonzalez, and Lieutenant General Donald M. Gumiran, leaders whose strategic vision and service continue to strengthen national security across the archipelago.<\/p>\n

From the country\u2019s law enforcement sector, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. was honored and represented by Police Brigadier General Randy Ygay Arceo, recognizing the organization\u2019s continuing commitment to peace, order, and community safety.<\/p>\n

The diplomatic community was likewise celebrated through the recognition of Niyazi Evren Akyol, whose efforts continue to strengthen relations between T\u00fcrkiye and the Philippines through diplomacy, cooperation, and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n

Public service leaders also took center stage, including Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, widely respected for his reform-driven governance and transparency initiatives, and Los Ba\u00f1os Mayor Neil Andrew Nocon, recognized for championing local development and community-centered programs.<\/p>\n

In the field of democratic governance, Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia was honored for his transformative leadership at the Commission on Elections and his continuing efforts to strengthen electoral integrity and public trust in Philippine democracy.<\/p>\n

Mata and Colonel Jessica Anne Marguerrite Lacson-Hizon.<\/p>\n
