Filipino kid Jordan Deang successfully pulls through the Golden State Warriors Junior Jam lineup to perform during Warriors home games halftime at Chase Center in San Francisco.

The Golden State Warriors Junior Jam consists of children ages 6 to 14 who are electric, dynamic, confident, and full of passion, based on the Warriors website.

Over 90 kids auditioned this season, with only 40 making it to the final round. Deang was among those who pushed hard to earn the position after their second try.

The 10-year-old hip-hop dancer is one of the only three boys in the 23-squad; interestingly, he is also the grandson of former PBA chairman Casiano Cabalan.

Deang and his family currently live in Union City, California, near the Chase Center, studying at Delaine Eastin Elementary School in Union City.

In his two years of dancing, he attended dance conferences like Kaos and Dance Monster, but much like his grandfather’s interest, Deang also plays basketball in St. Anne’s church league.

Cabalan shared in a local interview how Deang sees his future being competitive and productive in his busy schedule: “His dream is to be a Warriors player someday or a choreographer and dancer. He has a jam-packed schedule with dance classes all over the Bay Area, dance productions, conventions, and basketball practices all week, and competitions on weekends.”

Deang’s unending passion for hip-hop dance and sports has brought him to a big and global spotlight that can inspire younger hip-hop dancers to continue honing their talents.
