1Life Inc., a Filipino tech company committed to social responsibility, has launched DocMate AI, the Philippines’ first doctor’s assistant platform designed to revolutionize the country’s healthcare sector.

With the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and big data from 1Life’s 750,000-patient database, DocMate AI is designed to help doctors diagnose with unmatched speed and accuracy using the latest Machine Learning (ML) technology integrated into their Doctor’s Patient Management Systems. The platform assists doctors in analyzing patients’ data, from their diagnostic tests, family history, vital statistics, and other relevant healthcare information, and generates suggested diagnoses to reduce doctor workload, cut errors, and lower costs.

While 1Life utilizes AI integration in its services, the company ensures that the findings from its platform are still validated and administered by its doctors and healthcare professionals, ensuring effective diagnoses and patient care.

1Life officially introduced DocMate AI in a medical mission in Barangay Sta. Lucia in Novaliches, Quezon City, which served over 200 indigent residents with free diagnostic services.

With the introduction of DocMate AI, 1Life aims to optimize doctor efficiency while providing access to data analytics to ensure comprehensive and data-driven diagnoses. Additionally, the platform enables healthcare staff to save time on routine tasks, focusing on patient interaction and care.

Looking ahead, 1Life also envisions DocMate AI to assist local government units to provide enhanced yet faster healthcare service, which can see decongested health centers and lower costs through early intervention.

1Life Inc. President Niño Namoco emphasizes the power of technology to improve people’s lives, especially those of underserved communities.

“Technology has proven itself to be a tool with limitless possibilities to transform healthcare. With the introduction of DocMate AI, we further our vision in ensuring access to quality care can be within reach for Filipinos, particularly those from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. Having served nearly 1 million patients from Aparri to General Santos City, including isolated islands and mountain communities, 1Life is committed to reaching every Filipino in need, regardless of location or income,” Namoco said.

The Philippines faces a critical shortage of doctors, with only 3.7 physicians per 10,000 people, far below the World Health Organization’s recommended 10 per 10,000. This healthcare gap leaves millions underserved, especially in rural areas where medical professionals are scarce.

“Our AI Doctor Assistant platform is designed to bridge this divide by providing instant medical assessments, symptom analysis, and treatment recommendations, ensuring Filipinos receive timely healthcare guidance. By leveraging AI, we can support overburdened healthcare workers, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and extend medical services to remote communities—helping to alleviate the doctor shortage and improve healthcare access nationwide,” Namoco explained

In recognition of these challenges, he added that 1Life is committed to enhancing access to preventive care for many Filipinos by harnessing the power of AI. Through its comprehensive healthcare platform and streamlined approach, the company aims to tackle the “4-day problem” that patients typically face when seeking healthcare services. This issue involves multiple trips, lost workdays, and transportation expenses, which often discourage individuals from completing the process.

1Life addresses this challenge by condensing the experience into a single one-hour visit, utilizing portable technology to deliver diagnostics, diagnoses, and medications on-site. Additionally, its AI-driven patient engagement tools offer personalized diet and exercise plans, further promoting preventive care.
