The Science Department through its information line agency has opened its Search for Outstanding Innovations Awards with an extension until July 27, 2025.
Dubbed as the BPI-DOST Innovation Awards, the search is initiated by the BPI Foundation, Inc. (BPIF) in recognition of the “marked role of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in nation-building.”
The BPI Foundation partnered with the Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) to challenge “bright Filipino students in Basic and Applied Sciences to actively participate in resolving problems in the community through science and technology.”
Only one school entry/proposal of a team of three Junior to Senior undergraduate students (3rd to 5th year) who are enrollees in Basic and Applied Sciences within the program period is eligible to join the search. The proposal must not have been submitted to any competition or presented to any external party. Further, the technology’s Technology Readiness Level (TRL) must at least be 4 (Laboratory Validated).
From the entries, the Top 10 will be selected as qualifiers and will receive Php60,000.00 each as cash incentive. Finally, three will be selected as the most outstanding proposals and will receive the BPI-DOST Innovation Award and a cash prize of Php150,000.00 each.
