In the aftermath of widespread flooding brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Aboítiz Foods (AF), through its subsidiary Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation (Pilmico), mobilized relief assistance for 2,220 families across 17 communities in Tarlac, Pampanga, and Pangasinan.

Working with the Aboítiz Foundation, the Philippine Army, local government units (LGUs), and community partners, AF’s CSR and Sales teams mounted a rapid response to help affected communities access essential food, water, and hygiene supplies following the flooding.

The relief operations, conducted from September 3 to 11, covered communities in Tarlac City, Paniqui, and Bamban, Tarlac; Mexico, Pampanga; and Bayambang, Pangasinan, with support from Pilmico’s agricenters.

In Tarlac, assistance reached families in four barangays and sitios, as well as in two evacuation sites. In Mexico, Pampanga, relief packs were distributed across eight barangays, while 300 persons with disabilities in Bayambang, Pangasinan received grocery items.

Relief packs included rice, eggs, other food and grocery items, hygiene kits, and bottled water, with the Philippine Army providing logistical support and transport for ground distribution in several communities.

For AF, the response reflects its values of teamwork and responsibility—bringing together employees, government partners, and communities to respond to needs on the ground.

Local government partners, who helped ensure smooth coordination and facilitated the distribution to their respective communities, expressed their appreciation for AF’s support.

AF’s disaster relief efforts will continue with a planned next phase in San Marcelino, Zambales, where Pilmico is coordinating with the LGU to provide assistance to 500 families in remote and far-flung communities.
