To celebrate, Deadhaus Sonata is offering a Steam Weeklong Deal, available for $14.99 from today through October 26.

Here is the Deadhaus Sonata: Dark Rebirth Available Now Cinematic Trailer:

Dark Rebirth is a commitment from Denis Dyack (creator of Legacy of Kain, Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem) and the Apocalypse Studios team to completely address all the initial bugs and issues that plagued Deadhaus Sonata’s Early Access launch in May. Together with new veteran creative director Ethan McKinnon (Riftwalker), players will see a day to night difference in visual performance, responsive gameplay, and narrative storytelling while providing new features and expansive levels demonstrating the passion and steadfastness in delivering Dyack’s vision to this spiritual successor of Legacy of Kain.

Dark Rebirth Key Features

  • Complete Visual Reset: Veteran creative director Ethan McKinnon (put in games he worked on) has new stylized art direction lets talk about that.
  • Unreal Engine 5.7 Migration: Dark Rebirth takes full advantage of the Unreal Engine update with reworked volumetric lighting passes, enhanced screen-space ambient occlusion (SSAO), and dynamic atmospheric weather featuring damaging lightning strikes.
  • Massive Performance Boost & Handheld Readiness: Extensive optimization passes, reducing geometric polygon roadblocks, and re-tuning overall lighting effects corrects previous hardware bottlenecks to deliver fluid frame rates.
  • The Remade Vale: The central proving ground is expanded to 5x its original footprint, introducing vertical pathways, dynamic exploration secrets, and the exterior Land of the Dead domain.
  • Visceral Dismemberment: By community demand, combat now features extravagant dismemberment, heavier gore, and violent finisher executions. Pacing and animation frames have been standardized across distinct weapon identities to balance swords, high-damage heavy axes, and sweeping spears.
  • Reactive Vampire Degradation & Armor Progression: An undead form that visually reflects physical trauma, deteriorating across five distinct stages of decay down to an emaciated skeletal frame at critical health. Players earn three progressive tiers of physical Vampire Armor to reinforce their revived form.
  • Deterministic Feats & Expanded Tarots: Introduces the Feats and Inscriptions System (v0.2) and active Celestial Gates that unlock chambers in alignment with planetary movement. Expands occult options with five new Tarot cards: The Frost Sovereign, The Void, The Messenger, The Tempest, and The Alchemist.
  • Dynamic Camera Control & Photo Mode: Features camera distance control, visual occlusion to prevent environmental clipping, atmospheric perspectives inspired by classic psychological horror titles, and an integrated Photo Mode.

Deadhaus Sonata: Dark Rebirth is available to download today as a free update for all existing Early Access owners on Steam.
