The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) successfully launched the pilot run of its “Tindahan Mo, e-Level Up Mo!” program on June 26. This nationwide initiative aims to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by elevating them through digitalization and sustainable business practices.

“This first module of the ‘Tindahan Mo, e-Level Up Mo!’ program is a step closer to our goal of empowering MSMEs and driving inclusive growth. Through these program modules, we aim to equip sari-sari store owners with the essential skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the digital age, enhance their operations, and contribute significantly to our nation’s economic progress,” said DTI Secretary Fred Pascual.

“We believe that every sari-sari store plays a vital role in sustaining Filipino families and communities. By working together, we can elevate these micro businesses and pave the way for a Bagong Pilipinas where all MSMEs are thriving contributors to national development,” he added.

DTI employees from Albay Provincial Office conduct their live-selling sessions as part of the module.

Sari-sari store entrepreneurs participated in the program’s first module titled “e-level Up ang Negosyo,” which leveraged digital technologies and solutions to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of sari-sari store operations. Also part of the module is on how to set up a cashless payment system, and how to establish digital services like cash-in and bills payment using various e-wallets.

The program also includes four upcoming modules covering various topics:

  • “e-Level Up ang Online Marketing” – Equips participants with strategies to reach new customers and expand their online presence through digital tools (July 24);
  • “e-Level Up ang Puhunan” – Explores digital products to manage finances and grow business capital (August 28);
  • “e-Level Up ang Paninda” – Optimizes product selection and caters to customer needs through digital applications (September 25); and
  • “e-Level Up ang Operations” – Streamlines daily tasks and maximizes efficiency through digital solutions (October 23).

The program offers a comprehensive range of support from DTI, including business name registration process and relevant consumer protection policies.

Sari-sari store owners can participate in the webinars by tuning in to the DTI Philippines Facebook page (fb.com/groups/tmelm) and YouTube channel. Alternatively, they can visit their nearest DTI Negosyo Centers to join the live stream.

“We encourage sari-sari store owners to participate in the ‘Tindahan Mo, e-Level Up Mo!’ program and take advantage of the valuable resources and training opportunities available,” said DTI Undersecretary for Communications Ed Sunico as he urged sari-sari store entrepreneurs to join the initiative.

MSMEs play a crucial role in the Philippine economy, accounting for over 90% of businesses and employing millions of Filipinos. Sari-sari stores, with over 1.3 million establishments nationwide, serve as essential pillars of communities, providing daily necessities to a vast majority of the population.

The DTI’s commitment to empowering sari-sari store owners aligns with its recently launched slogan, “ANGAT Negosyo, ASENSO Trabaho, ALAGAng Konsyumer para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
