iCandy Interactive Limited (ASX:ICI) today announced that its expert Web3 development team Hashcode Studio is helping to develop the player-versus-environment (PvE) gameplay of Anichess, the free-to-play chess strategy video game published by Animoca Brands in partnership with Chess.com and five-time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen.

Anichess was launched on 16 January 2024. It is a spellbinding strategy game that combines the core rules of chess with a rich, captivating story and new gameplay elements including magic spell mechanics for a range of offensive, defensive and counter tactics.

The PvE mode of Anichess can be played completely free of charge right now at www.anichess.com, with the player-versus-player (PvP) expected later in Q1 2024.
