The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) today announced the appointment of Arturo “Butch” Guerrero as the Chair of the 52nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo, the country’s premier gathering of business leaders, policymakers, international partners, and MSMEs, happening on 13-14 October at the historic The Manila Hotel.
The PCCI leadership unanimously appointed Guerrero as Chair. Guerrero led major conferences in the past, including the National Conference of Employers in 2023. Last year, Guerrero served as Vice Chair in the 51st PBC&E.
“With his experience and expertise in organizing events, we trust that this year’s conference will be equally substantive, meaningful, and successful as the previous PBCs,” PCCI President Perry A. Ferrer said.
The 52nd PBC&E with the theme “Raising the Bar: Empowering Business for a Resilient Future” coincides with the Philippines’ Chairship of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the 60th Conference of the Confederation of the Chamber of Commerce of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) that PCCI is hosting in Manila this year.
“Three major business summits will happen towards the end of the year. We will align our efforts and PBC agenda with that of the two other events – after all, we share a common goal of creating a dynamic and prosperous regional economy,” Guerrero said.
A forward-thinking business leader, Guerrero brings more than 30 years of experience in labor and employment policy, workforce solutions, and tripartite collaboration.
As Chairman of Temps and Staffers, Inc, a leading staffing firm and a senior national employer representative, he has consistently driven progressive, data-enabled labor strategies while championing reforms that strengthen social protection and promote industrial peace in the Philippines.
His expertise spans national policy, corporate governance, digital transformation, and social security systems—allowing him to bridge the priorities of workers, employers, and government institutions.
The 52nd Philippine Business Conference will convene leaders from across industries to address pressing challenges and opportunities in the Philippine economy. It traditionally opens with the Vice President of the Philippines delivering a keynote address and concludes with the President of the Philippines receiving a set of policy recommendations that emanate from PCCI members, local chambers, and industry partners.
